Madame X by DarkMuse112 Madame X by DarkMuse112
Oh my! Look! It's not fan art!

Partially inspired by the Adele song for the new James Bond movie, Skyfall, (unf, do I love that song) and this painting by John Singer Sargent titled "Madame X" [link]

I have been calling this painting "Madame X", but obviously, it's 100% my own work. I could probably get in trouble for calling it that, but oh well... I've seen other artists take (or what I've learned to call it, "appropriate" —I guess that makes it sound nicer—) the names of older paintings for their own work so, I really don't know. ANYWAY...

I think when I got the idea for this, that painting was kind of subconsciously in my head, but only after I started it, and started thinking about what I wanted to call it, did I realize how much I was actually drawing from that painting. I didn't use it as a reference or anything, but you can definitely tell I was thinking about it. Oh well, having to take a bunch of art history classes will do that to a person :)

PLEASE DO NOT STEAL
I worked very hard on this piece, and it is my own personal creation. I would very much appreciate it if people not download this piece, re-post it, and then claim it as their own. I really should not have to say this. I am thankful that I have never run into art thieves in the past, and yet, the threat remains. However, I would be super stoked if people like it enough to download it, print it out, buy a print, etc. to enjoy on their own or with friends and family :3
